Chef's Journal: Entree #1
At the end of 2015 I was offered the opportunity to come in with the good people at SLICE Deli and Cakery to help capture and document all the hard work and effort that they put into their food. Chef Julio is an amazing chef with a deep passion for cooking. I relate to him very well with his love for food as it just the same as my love for photography and film. This is the first of many video Chef's Journals. We hope that with these videos it will evoke more then just hunger in you tummy but really let you into the world of hard work and the process of each dish served at Slice. Here is a little from Chef Julio himself:
"Recently I was able to really put my creativity in perspective for everyone in our first Chef's Journal. Being inspired by the video journals from some of the most respected chefs on Life & Thyme my team at Slice put together our very own way of really giving our guests a view on how we put together the masterpieces we create in my kitchen. My narration is fully focused on how each dish is put together from beginning to end."
"RESPECT THE PROCESS" is there motto and this comes from long process that is put into each dish they serve. I hope that you can watch this video a second time and close your eyes and just listen to how this dish is made and described by Chef Julio. The picture he paints with his words is just as beautiful as the dish itself. If you are ever in the Fountain Valley area and looking for a great spot to grab a sandwich, meal, beer, glass of wine, or delicious cake this where you want to go!
