Father's Day

I look over my shoulder and laying my bed as peaceful as can be is my sleeping 4 year old, star fished out in the middle of the bed surrounded by pillows, stuffed animals, with the blankets kicked off the bed. It is currently 6:13am on a Sunday morning but not just any Sunday morning. Today is Father's Day. A day that brings me both happiness and sadness. A day I get to celebrate being a father but also a day I don't physically get to celebrate with my own.  When I first became a father today was never easy but as the years have passed since Xander was born today gets a little easier for me. I see my self become more of my father as I grow older in age but never in spirit because that how my dad was. He always had a young spirit that was just so contagious that it just pulled people in. He was always a people person, the funny guy, and the one that could cheer you up in moments. And the more I think about it the more I see those same qualities in Xander. Xander can even put a smile on a strangers face when we are out and about. I love to see my little creation has the power to affect people in such a positive way by doing nothing but being him self. As he is getting older I see how quick he is changing, adapting, and growing in so many areas of his life. It makes me proud to see his growth. As I help guide him through his journeys of life at this young age I can't help but look up at times and just smile. I smile because I know in my heart that my dad is looking down on me and he is proud. Proud of the man, father, son, brother, and significant other I have become. Gonna wrap this up before I get a little to emotional. Xander is my pride and joy. The best thing I have ever created and my greatest accomplishment. He will forever be my drive, motivation, and inspiration. My long days, short nights, and all my daily sacrifices are for him.

Even though us fathers all know that every day is Father's Day I want to wish a very Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there. May your children bring you all the joy in world as we all celebrate having one of the best jobs in the WORLD.

Cheers to you dads out there and I love you Xander!
