#ThrowbackThursday: Tom and Christine's Las Vegas Elopement

A few days ago marked the 2 year anniversary for my good friend Tom and his wife Christine. Here is a the wedding film, photos, and story from that fun filled 26 hours in Las Vegas with them!

Tom and I met way back in 2009/2010. We spent year at Red Bull together with him being a counter part in the SD area and me in OC. Somehow our friendship grew and continued well after the years of Red Bull, which I can say with the short time I was there I have made many lasting friendships. Fast forward to when Tom met Christine… I couldn’t tell you the exact time they did me but I do remember when Tom asked me…. “ You gonna take my engagement photo one day? ;) “ and that was December 13, 2016.

I believe it was about 6 months later and he had finally asked Christine the big question. After months of collabing and chatting and mood boards and Pinterest inspo boards came July 5, 2018. That morning I found myself driving to Las Vegas before the sun was up to meet Christine and Tom for their elopement. My first stop was to B & C Camera to pick up some 35mm film for the day. I knew that I wanted to capture just about all of the shoot on film with a digital as a back up. It was gonna be a hot day but we started early to try and beat the heat for our first part of the day before retreating to the hotel before location 2 at the iconic Neon Light Museum. After we went back for a very quick refresh before heading to the chapel to seal the deal! Unfortunately I wasn’t able to bring my camera in but you can see more of the ceremony at the end of the post in their wedding film (YES, there is a adventure elopement film at the end of the post).

When the ceremony concluded we headed out to explore and shoot around Downtown Las Vegas. They loved the old school feel of this part of the city and wanted to wrap up the day with some portraits here. With a quick stop at the liquor store we where off to shoot. I mean it would be a Vegas celebration with out some public drinking right? With all the shooting and festivities done we joined their crew for a celebration dinner before I headed back home to California. That was my less then 24 hour trip to capture an amazing moment for some amazing people. I would do it all over again. The journey with some of my couples stem from friendship that have lasted years and for that I am grateful that my friends choose me to be a part of their big day. That to me is priceless that I get to capture moments that people will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you Tom and Christine for letting me capture and be a part of your journey!
